Love is better than hate.

Hope is better than fear.

Optimism is better than despair.

So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic.  

And we'll change the world.

Whether you agreed with his politics or not it is impossible not to feel a profound sense of saddness and loss for this wise and gentle fighter with a wonderful sense of humour who left this life way too soon.  All Canadians will feel Jack Layton's loss for a long time to come.
